Phase 1:

-Split into two groups, one for each half of the room.  
-DPS down Foreman Feldspar, ranged DPS from the half he is not on can help kill him.
-DPS priority: Bellows Operators, Engineers, Guards
-Interrupt whenever possible. Do not bother MCing the guards in this phase, just tank them away from other mobs
-Spread out 5 yards (at least when engineers are up)

Primary Mechanic:
-When you have a bomb, take it to a heat shield.  When the engineers die, pick up the bombs and take them to the heat shields.  Don't blow your bombs up on top of each other, be polite and take turns, jerks. 


Phase 2:

-Finish off any adds from the previous phase
-Fixated target drag Slag Elemental on top of Primal Elementalist to be killed.
-Melee focus and interrupt Firecallers (stunnable).  Ranged focus on Slag Elementals.  Everyone on Primal Elementalist when its shield is down.
-Mind Control a guard to help kill Slag Elementals.
-Dispell/Spell Steal healing buff off of Primal Elementalist when its immunity shield is down.
-Repeat for remaining 3 Primal Elementalists.

One tank keep any non-MC'd guards away from other mobs, other tank pick up Firecallers.


Phase 3:

-Raid stack up against the wall to control placement of void zones. 
-Kill off any adds from previous phase, EXCEPT Slag Elementals which will be ignored.
-BLOODLUST in phase 3 when adds are dead.
-Rotate healing cooldowns and try not to die. 
-Tank swap at 3-4 stacks of heat.

I have been doing some research on this fight, and I think we need to change our dps priorities. Most of the guilds that are defeating this encounter are focusing the bellowers > engineers > Feldspar > Guards.. with the foreman and guards dying to cleave damage mostly. Also this fight is so tightly tuned, that the best results are obtained with optimizing single target damage rather than AE damage. Primarily, it is important for specific mobs to die very quickly. From what I have read, If the Heat gets to 100 its game over, wipe and try again.

Ok ignore the fact that they are foreign (Swedish or German not sure which), but this is a video of a clean heroic kill. I didn't notice anyone dying in this

/r Phase 1: move Rupture to wall, interrupt Feldspar's Pyroclasm
/r Kill Operators > Feldspar > engineers > guards

/r Phase 2: Kill Feldspar and clean up adds first.
/r One tank gather all guards, other tank get feldspar and other adds
/r When Feldspar is dead, his tank brings Firecallers to current Elementalist target
/r Clear Firecallers, kill Slag Elemental (blows up!), all DPS on Elementalists
/r Interrupt Firecallers' Erupt and Cauterize Wounds
/r Clear adds between Elementalists (at least firecallers)
/r -
/r Phase 3: drop Melt on the wall and at the edges. Move behind the tanks.  Win.

Some notes from last night after reviewing the logs:

-Don't stand in front of the Bellows Operators once phase two starts, they do a cone attack that should only hit tanks.

-Do better at interrupting Cauterizing Wounds on the Firecallers, we had a fuck ton of casts go off, including half a dozen on the Primals. Primal Elementalist number 3 got a lot of healing in particular (that might be partly due to timing of wipes). 

-Stop blowing each other up with bombs (my side in particular!)

-Slag elementals blow up when they die, so try to avoid standing there when that happens.  Only interrupt the one we are killing in position it, after that its target can move away and it will stay stationary and keep casting. 
***New Strategy!  If you are focused by a slag, move YOUR slag (by interrupting it) onto the current OR next primal, then move away.  Everyone else, DO NOT interrupt ANY slag that is already on top of a Primal, but interrupt the ones that are not in order to get them there quicker (since not everyone can interrupt).***

-Volatile Fire hurts, you must move away from everyone when you have it until it explodes at the end of the debuff.

-Blast was, of course, far and away the highest damaging ability.  Kill the Bellows Operators faster and handle phase 2 more smoothly and the Heat level will stay lower and we will get far fewer blasts.

-The Heart of the Mountain was left in a Security Guard's shield buff for 15 seconds.... Bad news!



-At our current raid's ilvl, we have about a 2% chance per attempt to kill Blackhand.  So I'd realistically put the over/under for our first kill at roughly 85.5 attempts!

Blackrock Foundry

  • The Blast Furnace
    • Phase 1
      • Furnace Engineers should now throw a bomb at players roughly every 6 seconds. Throw Bomb is now instant-cast, but the range is now 40 yards (down from 50 yards). These changes are intended to diminish the relative benefit of having two or more priests, compared to one or none: Mind Control allows for more controlled targeting of the Bombs, but does not speed up the phase as a whole.
      • Reduced the health of Heat Regulators.

 

This will help us a fair amount (since we were doing it with no shadow priests), since we had a lot of bomb throws interrupted by stuns and knock backs, which slows the phase down a lot and adds to the heat, and an instant cast throw can't be interrupted.  Plus the heat regulators will have less health which will make the phase go a lot faster.  If we can end phase one with under 30 heat, and one-shot all the primal elementalists in phase two, then we can enter phase 3 with less than 90 heat and far fewer adds and it will be a cake walk.
