re: New Computer

So I am looking at building a new computer due to mine taking a shit, and I wanted opinions.  Let me know what you peeps think of this build and what I should change.

Motherboard = ASUS Sabertooth Z97 MARK-S Arctic Armor; CPU Intel Core = i7 4790K Quad Core 4.0GHz; CPU Cooler = Corsair Hydro H75 Liquid Cooler; Memory = 32GB DDR3 2133MHz; Video Card #1 = Radeon R9 390X 8GB GDDR5; Hard Drive Primary = 2TB WD Caviar 7200RPM; Backup HDD = 1TB SATA-III 7200RPM; DVD Drive = LG Blue Ray Burner + DVD Burner (2 Drives); Card Reader = Flash Card reader Internal; Power Supply = 1200W EVGA P2 80+ Platinum; Sound Card = Surround 3D Premium Integrated; OS - Windows = Windows 10 Professional; Video Card #2 = CrossFire Radeon R9 390 8GB

I need ideas and improvements.

I've got an ASUS sabertooth motherboard, and it's worked great for two and a half years now.  It also looks pretty slick.

I would very definitely recommend putting your operating system and other things you want to run quickly (like WoW) on an SSD hardrive.  I've got one that's only I think 60GB or somewhere around there, but it was enough for windows and wow and a couple other things, and it's been fantastic.  Shit boots up in less than 10 seconds.  My whole computer is up and ready to go faster than my damned keyboard.  Do that, you will not regret it.

Everything else looks like probably overkill (which as far as I'm concerned is the only way to go when building a computer).  A 4.0ghz processor will power you through any pornographically related project you might embark upon (and any-fucking-thing else), just make sure it's the right type/shape/peg or whatever for your motherboard.

I can't imagine what you would need TWO disc burners for (except maybe the aforementioned porn projects).  I'd bet that the blu-ray burner is also capable of burning DVDs, but I dunno.

I have never bought a separate sound card, I've found that the built-in cards on my motherboards have been more than enough, and I currently have 17 speakers and 2 sub-woofers frankensteined to my computer.  But if that's your thing, go for it.

Also, what are you going to put all this stuff in?  Your butt?  Is this a Butt Computer?

Possibly in the butt, I like to challenge myself. The sound card I may take off, I just thought I might try something different, and I like have the two discs burners due to illegal stuff you know, like making movies with haller and burning dvds and shit.

Motherboard = ASUS Sabertooth Z97 MARK-S Arctic Armor; CPU Intel Core = i7 4790K Quad Core 4.0GHz; CPU Cooler = Corsair Hydro H75 Liquid Cooler; Memory = 32GB DDR3 2133MHz; Video Card #1 = Radeon R9 390X 8GB GDDR5; Hard Drive Primary = 2TB WD Caviar 7200RPM; Backup HDD = 1TB SATA-III 7200RPM; DVD Drive = LG Blue Ray Burner + DVD Burner (2 Drives); Card Reader = Flash Card reader Internal; Power Supply = 1200W EVGA P2 80+ Platinum; Sound Card = Surround 3D Premium Integrated; OS - Windows = Windows 10 Professional; Video Card #2 = CrossFire Radeon R9 390 8GB

MOBO: That board seems to be extremely expensive. You could save a lot of money (~$200) by going with any other LGA1150 socket board with almost all the functionality.

CPU: Best intel one out there, good choice if you're playing modern triple A titles or if you're doing video work with the multiple hyperthreaded cores.

Cooler: Unless your woman complains that the computer is too loud or you really like to burn money, you will not get anymore performance with liquid cooling compared to air unless you overclock. If you do the increase will still be minimal. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO would be a good option if you want to save money.

RAM: 32GB is way more than necessary for gaming. From the sounds of it you're doing some video rendering or encoding so it should be fine. You could drop it to 16GB and save money.

PSU: Nobody really needs above a 1000W, even for crossfire or SLI, really.

GPU: Unless you already have the 390, do not buy both of those cards to crossfire. When you crossfire the performance of the 390x will be dropped to match the 390 resulting in an efficiency loss. Along with this, there are more graphical issue that can arise from crossfire and sli due to game compatibility with these systems. You're MUCH better off buying one high end GPU. Go get a 980ti if you can. Now on a separate note the 390 and 390x are AMD rebadges of the 290 and 290x. The increased vram has minimal impact on performance and again you could save more money by going with a 290x for basically the same performance if you can't get the 980ti. On a side note, reliability of GPU varies greatly with manufacturer. I recommend ASUS, MSI, or EVGA in no particular order.

Hard drive: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE THIS IS FUCKING 2016, PUT A FUCKING BOOT SSD IN YOUR SYSTEM. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147360&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Sound card: Unnecessary unless you have so high end headphones that already require them.

Overall it would work as is but there's a lot of wasted money potential that could go elsewhere. If you have any questions about my comments or if you want more info let me know.

Edit: Also this site is extremely helpful when designing a build https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

He is a professional video pornographer.  He writes, directs, stars, films, and edits them.  It's quite inspirational, considering he has no tongue, that he has been as successful as he is.  It's mostly due to his physique, and his giant dick.  It's giant.

His screen-name is Jack "Horse" Hammer, and he writes under the pseudonym P. Ennis Sackworth, III.   He's been quite prolific in the industry over the last 6 years after leaving his job as a telemarketer in 2010.  He successfully sued his former employer for terminating him based on a racial bias (though, let's be honest, it was almost certainly because of the no-tongue thing), and used the settlement money to found his adult video production company, a life-long dream.  He even met his wife during his first round of "audition couch" shoots.

It's very important that he has the most top-of-the-line custom-built computer for the editing and uploading side of his business.

Where'd your graphics card go?

Also you don't need TWO solid state drives, you over-achiever.

Don't let Sile talk you out of 32GB of ram, I thought that was a good idea.  You never know what games tomorrow might bring!

Haha I left off the card

VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB GDDR5 PCIe 3.0 x16 Video Card.

I got the two drives, due to my wife is a wedding photographer on the side and likes to put a lot of shit on my computer. But I am still thinking of just putting a regular drive on for her instead of another ssd.  And I may go back to 32GB of ram, I was just fiddling with some specs trying to cut cost, but i could cut a lot of cost in getting rid of the 2nd ssd drive and bumping ram back up.

 I would go with a 2-4TB HDD with one 256GB SSD, that way you have reliable storage that is big enough. What I would also recommend is consider investing in a Network Access Storage device (NAS) that way you can back up those important wedding photos because those would suck to lose. You could even look up some info into turning the old machine into one.

Also fright doesn't know what he's talking about, vram and cpu performance is far more important to gaming performance. RAM above 8gb will improve your multitasking performance but not improve gaming performance, but since you decided to go with ddr4 32gb should be pretty easy to get to. Ram is also extremely fucking cheap in a build to get 2 strips which leaves you room for expansion in the future if you needed it.

You could again save money from the same performance going back to the i7-4790 and ddr3 2133mhz. Also you're taking a bit of a risk with ddr4 since it hasn't been on the market long enough to know about it's reliability. The new CPU you selected is the "skylake" architecture from intel which is still prone to some crashing bugs right now.

Sil, build me a badass pc with a 3500 dollar budget, I need some more computer savy intel than mine.  I need everything but mouse, monitor, and keyboard I am all set there.
