If games can't make serial killers or turtle murdering shroom eating jumpmen, I don't think they can make heroes either. Though I suppose there is nothing wrong with using new media to engage education and indoctrination.

I heard her on the colbert report and npr's talk of the nation, I think I get the idea. I was responding to your title more than anything.
Games with altruistic motivation isn't particularly new but things like her research and new technology are. Its just new media that people are still learning to deal with since modern gaming pretty much started last decade.
